Archaeological Museum of Chalki

A small-scale museum housed in a restored traditional shell within the settlement of Emporio. The permanent exhibition familiarises visitors with the history of Chalki and the adjacent islet of Alimnia, from prehistoric to byzantine times, as well as the special features of its archaeological landscape, such as beacons (phryktoriae), honeycomb rural structures (“kyfes”), and single-room medieval chaplets.
