Archaeological Museum of Kythnos

The Archaeological Museum of Kythnos is housed in the old elementary school in Chora, Kythnos and presents episodes and periods of the island's history from prehistoric times until today. Among the exhibits are finds from the Mesolithic settlement of Maroulas, evidence of archaeometallurgy which has been a diachronic activity in the island, objects from the ancient town of Vryokastro which had public buildings, sanctuaries and cemeteries. The exhibition also includes presentation of the monasteries and temples of Byzantine times, as well as of the Oria Castle from the period of the Frankish occupation.
