Polycentric Museum of Aigai/Central Museum Building

The Central Museum Building of Aigai is the gateway both to the Polycentric Museum and the archaeological site. The first temporary exhibitions that opened to the public at the end of 2022 are entitled “Aigai Memory” and “Oikoumeni Antidoron” presenting findings mainly retrieved from Aigai as well as from synergies with other museums and archaeological sites engaged in the culture and history of the Macedonians. The permanent semi-outdoor exhibition hosts sculpture from the city’s sanctuaries while the upper floor of the palace’s facade has been reconstructed in the large atrium. The building will also host the physical headquarters of the digital museum “Alexander the Great, from Aiges to Oikoumeni”.
