Sculpture Collection of the Parigoritissa Church, Arta

The church of Parigoritissa in Arta was built in the 13th century and was the katholikon (central church) of a large monastery, from which today the "trapeza" (Refectory) and sixteen monastery cells have still been preserved. The "trapeza" houses an exhibition of sculptures from the Early Christian period until the 14th century. The exhibits originate from Byzantine monuments in Arta and its vicinity.
