National Archaeological Museum

The National Archaeological Museum was founded in 1893 and it is housed in a neoclassical building erected between 1866 and 1889. It is the largest museum in Greece and one of the most important museums in the world. The museum’s rich collections, with more than 11,000 exhibits, offer the visitor a panorama of the ancient Greek civilization from Early Prehistory to Late Antiquity.
