Archaeological Collection of Distomo

The Archaeological Collection of Distomo was founded in 1994. The building, where the collection is located, was inaugurated in 1901 by Ioassaf Kastritis, bishop of the Hosios Loukas Monastery, and was originally used as the local primary school. In 1987, it was granted by the Municipality of Distomo to the Ministry of Culture to become a museum that would host the collection of finds from excavations held in the eastern area of ancient Phocis.
