Museum Collection of Nea Moni

The exhibition of the Museum of Nea Moni is housed in a cell situated northwest of the main church of the monastery. It is home to ecclesiastical and secular silverworks, embroideries, woven textiles as well as religious icons dating back to the period between the 17th and the 19th century. The exhibits presented at the museum are all donations, as the rich and valuable collection of the Monastery has not been preserved due to the pillage and plunder it sustained in the 19th century.
