Archaeological Museum of Limnos

The Archaeological Museum of Limnos is housed in a 19th century two-storey building, which originally served as the office of the Ottoman governor during the Ottoman occupation. The Museum’s new permanent exhibition was inaugurated in August 2025 and presents findings from Poliochni, Myrina, Koukonisi, Kavirio and Ouriakos, deliveries of artifacts by private citizens, as well as a remarkable collection of sculptures. The exhibition themes are organised in two temporal axes: the prehistoric civilisation of Limnos, which is exhibited on the first floor, and the age-old time of historic times on the island ranging from the Late Bronze up to the Byzantine times on the second floor.
