Archaeological Museum of Kos

A building that was constructed during the Italian Occupation and was later declared a protected monument houses the Archaeological Museum of Kos. The impressive atrium is the setting where the sculptural decoration of the Roman Villa known as ''The House of the Abduction of Europa'' is on display. The exhibition presents the history of the island from the Prehistoric to the Hellenistic times through archaeological finds that were discovered in the Sanctuaries of Kos, the Agora, and in other monuments, including the Altar of Dionysus, the Odeon, and the Roman Villa.
